So here we are December 31, 2011. If you believe in all the Mayan predictions and crap like that, this will be the last New Year's Eve we will ever see. Me? I don't buy into that shit, and I probably never will. No one knows what it goes to happen in the future. I really try to live for today most of the time. That is enough stress for me to deal with!
I do wonder what 2012 will bring though. Will we have a nice long riding season here in the northeast? Or will it be a rainy cold summer? I know, I know! We have yet to receive our first real snow yet, and I am already dreaming of next year's riding. That's only because I can't wait to be back in the saddle, cruising through the countryside, and enjoying that wind against my face. There really is no feeling like for me.
This year is going to be different for me though. My motorcycle resolutions are different this year. I have a lot to get done in my little world! I have my current bike to customize so it will truly be mine. Then, of course, there is my project bike I would like to make a lot of headway on.(That is a topic for a different time...so stay tuned for the 1978 Yamabobber!!!) I would also really like to attend a couple of group rides. I never have before. I have ridden with a friends here and there, but I have never gone a scheduled ride for a benefit. I aim to make at least 2 of those this year. Then there are motorcycle rallies. I have been to one of the biggest, Daytona Bikeweek, a few times. It is time to venture out though, and make some new friends at different rallies. Anyone know of any really good rallies on the East Coast? Something that just shouldn't be missed???
I would like to wish everyone the Happiest New Year! Please be safe out there, and stay alive!!!
PS...I need to find these saddlebags for my Honda Shadow!! The come from a Honda Shadow American Classic Edition Touring Edition.

My motorcycle...
I am currently riding a 1997 Honda Shadow American Classic Edition 1100. It is a shaft driven bike, and rides out very smoothly. It is completely stock right now, and has around 24,000 miles on it. I am the second owner, and have owned it for almost a year now. There are changes I plan to make because I have a hard time leaving anything stock! I plan to change the exhaust system, saddlebags, full size front fairing, more comfortable seats, a couple of other little things. This is the bike I cruise on with my wife or my daughter. They would love for me to add a sidecar, so I could take both of them at the same time.
I love my motorcycle for one very simple reason. IT'S MINE!!! I own her free and clear. Actually sometimes I feel like she owns me! I can't walk by her without stopping to touch it, sit on it, wipe off a smear, or some other silly little reason. Yes, I am worse than a kid sometimes!
So I would like to leave you with this question. What do you ride? What have you done to your bike? What would you like to do it? Or anything else you would like add about your bike or mine!
